We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Research Scientist with a strong immunology background to join our team based in Sydney, Australia. You will contribute to the assessment and development of antibody-based immunology drug candidates so that we can move programs faster and with less risk to the clinic. If you are passionate about understanding how models can predict therapeutic action on human disease, we'd love to hear from you.
How you might spend your days
- Liaising with cross-functional team members to execute in vivo and ex vivo pharmacology and pharmacodynamic studies in immunology and other disease indications
- Performing in vivo procedures such as handling, dosing (IV, IP, and SQ), and monitoring studies in preclinical models
- Performing ELISA, flow cytometry, and other molecular biology assays on study samples with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy
- Developing new bioanalytical methods, optimizing workflows, and executing laboratory techniques related to in vivo models
- Collaborating with teammates to solve problems, analyze, interpret, and communicate data
- Supporting laboratory management including keeping inventory of consumables and reagents
- Overseeing sample management including sample receipt, organization, and archiving
We'd love to hear from you if
- You provide the highest level of animal care while performing in vivo procedures
- You have a keen interest in immunology and biologics drug development
- You are experienced and comfortable with animal handling, dosing (IV, IP, and SQ), and blood collection
- You have an MSc in Pharmacology, Immunology, or related field, or a BSc with 2+ years of relevant in vivo experience in an academic or industry setting
- You have proven interpersonal skills and create value on cross-functional teams
- You have a strong understanding of the 3Rs and research ethics
- You are genuinely curious, enjoy a fast-paced work environment, and take initiative to meet goals under tight project timeline
